Message from General Nurse Manager

Hirakata General Hospital for Developmental Disorders was established in 1969 and is an institution for severely-retarded children with 400 beds.
Although users are suffered from both severe physical disability and mental retardation, we make efforts to enhance “treatment and education for the whole person,” our principle, in order to facilitate users to live happy and cheerful lives.

We in the Nursing Department provide delicate attention to the mind and body of every single person in a daily life from the 4 perspectives of life, health, environment and living. We cooperate with doctors, nurses and various healthcare professionals and work on to facilitate users to lead their own lives to live.

Users are not matured in communication skills. While we face such users through daily care, we are motivated by trust and smiles of the users. We believe that heart-to-heart communication enhances and enriches quality of life for users.
